Do you like mineral make-up?

Mineral make up seems to be a growing trend - at least by the amount of advertising anyway. Is it any better than the usual types?Opinions please?Do you like mineral make-up?
* I am a big fan of mineral make up. I used to use liquid make up.. i used mainly loreal, covergirl %26amp; maybelline. I found liquid foundation to either give poor coverage...or too cakey. mineral make up however, can give you as much or as little coverage you desire without the cakey and messy bits. i found that using liquid foundation you pretty much have to use it for your whole face, and I only want to cover blemishes...liquid foundation makes it look bloody obvious that I have a patch of foundation on my face. which mineral make up doesn't hav that disadv.

If you have bought the right mineral make up, you will also notice that it's safer for your skin, MOSt (always read ingredients) does not contain harsh chemicals (although some still do, i know maybelline mineral mke up does). most drug store liquid make up and some high end make up contain talc, paraben properties and other harmful stuff you DON'T want to put on your face for the long term... I'd rather be safe than sorry..Do you like mineral make-up?
Yes! I love mineral makeup. It makes my skin fee; healthier and lighter. I don't like liquid because it just seems too thick. I see alot of older women wearing liquid because they have more to hide while younger women tend to go for the mineral powder for a younger more natural look.
Well I'm not a fan, but I would use it on top of liquid makeup to make it blend a bit more. If you have acne mineral make up would be better to use considering it will not affect your acne as much and make it worse. It is good, but I wouldnt say better, it works well on top of liquid that way your face wont look as cakey, and makes it more blended with your skin tone.

I LOVE mineral makeup, and i use it

its better on the long run than the usual types mainly because it is better for your skin.

i have superb coverage using mineral make up.
Not a big fan. They break me out... And they have bad coverage.
Not really because it doesnt cover up my scars

Dose Bare Minerals Make up really work that good?

Dose it really cover everything, or work good, I mean 60$ is alot to spend on make up if it dosent really work.I heard its so pure you can sleep in itDose Bare Minerals Make up really work that good?
I tried Bare Minerals and it made my face break out. I started using Everyday Minerals and it works great and it cost alot less. You can order samples thru their website for the cost of shipping ($3.97)

My coverage last all day and I have oily skin.Dose Bare Minerals Make up really work that good?
omg i use it and i totally don't get acne that much. if you have oily skin, use an oil control lotion before you put it on. but otherwise, it makes people look naturally pretty.
It is, its very good and natural looking, you can look at sephora.com also on amazon.com click under sephora and you can see all kinds of reviews of people that bought it and loved it
It works okay but it didn't stay on all day for me. :(

I switched to kms mineral essentials. It lasts all day and then some. It is just as pure, you can sleep in it, I just don't. Kms also doesn't contain bismuth as bare minerals does, so there is no worry about irritation.
It didn't do anything for me, and I have pretty nice skin to begin with...so don't waste your $$. Try other products like moisturizer, powder, blush. Don't forget to wash your face though.
it works diffrent on everyone
no need to disapoint you, but my friend uses bare minerals, and she has a ';little mark'; on her face, and it doesnt really cover it, i mean it takes it from red to pink, but i dont know, it might just be her skin.
I've heard its way better than Sheer Cover, and any other make-up you can buy at a store. I've seen a picture of a real person on here with the Bare Minerals make-up on too, and her skin looked flawless.. No Bumps,No zits,No scars,No Blotchiness/Discoloration..Notta..It just looked SUPER NaTURLE'
It doesn't stay on very good.
It worked for me. But to make sure it will work for you go to a make up store such as sephora and have them put it on you. Leave the store and wear it for a day to try it out and see if you like it!
Well it didn't work for me. I had to wear foundation underneath it to cover up my dark circles.
I've used it for years and just love it. Never went back to any other foundation. Out of curiousity I tried Sheer Cover recently and hated it, returned it to the store. You can buy it in singles on Ebay if you want to give it a try.
NO!

get sheer cover it's better

god bless

-stormy
yes, but you need to have a primer to make this product last longer on your face

bye!!

Mineral make up?

does mineral make up actually work? does anyone use it and does it good at covering up pimples and stuff?Mineral make up?
Are you talking about makeup like bareMinerals by Bare Escentuals? If so then I can definitely attest to the fact that they DO!

I don't work for the company or anything - I was just really tired of never having the right makeup. I never felt like anything I used was really good for my skin and I also always had a hard time blending 100% because there just aren't really any foundations out there that look totally natural [to me].

Plus, I hate foundation! I don't care if they say they're water-based... For someone who has a T-zone face like I do (combination dry/normal/oily), no foundation really works.

I saw the commercials on TV for the longest time before I tried it. I was skeptical about it because I didn't believe there was any way that powder could cover up certain things like the occasional blemish and the melasma (dark splotches) I developed from using birth control.

The stuff really works. I love it. Now I can't live without it. To be totally honest with you, there is a little bit of a learning curve in the beginning when you're trying to figure out correct application, blending and all that but once you get it right, it's awesome!

It covers the melasma completely without looking the least bit cakey and it doesn't ';feel'; like you've got all this makeup on. An added benefit for me is that ever since I started using it, I have WAY less instances of breakouts. I was never terribly acne prone to begin with but always had to deal with the occasional breakout and this stuff works really well at covering without looking like you put it on with a spatula.

Recently a very fair-skinned, acne prone friend of mine finally started using it (after I'd been telling her to try it for at least a year). Her skin has cleared up A LOT and now she LOVES the stuff!

The thing about it is that it works for any skin type and color. I mean honestly if I could be a spokesperson for them, I would be because that is how much I believe in their product!

The nicest compliment I've gotten since I started using it was my dentist told me that I have beautiful skin (and you know how close they have to get 'cause I mean they're working in your mouth!!)...

I would say give it a shot but start off with one of the small starter kits... The stuff can get a little pricey but a little goes a long way so for me it lasts twice as long (at least) as conventional makeup.Mineral make up?
I am a professional makeup artist and I have been using mineral makeup on my clientel for about 4 years now. I have a range of clientel from very high dollar wealthy clientel to your average teenager. I do photo shoots, weddings, proms, fashion shows etc.. and I use http://www.faerieorganic.com/ I have deat with some people with purple cystic acne and this stuff covered with flying colors. It is all natural with no fillers or preservatives (unlike bare escentuals) and you won't need to wear sunscreen in the summer on your face as this stuff really protects you from the suns rays, it is also waterproof and sweatproof. Nothing is worse than doing makeup for a wedding on a hot july day and havingit melt off, this stuff stays on. Check out the site, the home page even shows how well it covers redness.
yea..tdy a guy called me at work n told me that he is interested in renting my office space for a mineral make-up workshop..i gt sum details frm him..mineral make-up is gonna be the next big thing it seems..its supposed to be totally free of chemicals..so it wun cause pimples n stuff..n they hv made it relatively long lasting thru natural measures..think u can try it!
Yes mineral make up works because it has been like idk 2 years and i have tried other make up and it makes me brake out so i used mineral make up and it really works i luv the stuff and it is like really easy to blend and it covers alot!!
mineral make up is fantastic..it helps cover blemishes, makes spots less visible and makes your skin look flawless. I highly recommend it. Mineral bronzer is also very good and gives you an amazing glow.
Mineral make-up does work. I have been using the Bare Minerals beginners kit everyday for two years and it lasts all day. It's expensive, but it's worth it.
I suppose different brands work differently. A good one I've tried is by Young Blood. To conceal pimples, try dabbing on a concealer first followed by loose powder or foundation to set.
i dont use it but i hear its better cus it dont clog your pores, i just started using make up so im going slow trying new things out,buy a small cheap one and see how you like it =]
My younger sister was using it and she started gettting tiny pimples all over her forehead from the make up.
i use Merle Norman mineral makeup and i love it! coverage is great and its very light and matches my skin color well

Mineral make up question?

Can you use mineral make up over liquid foundation?Mineral make up question?
suree.

i use loreal true match liquid foundation

then with loreal bare natural foundation, but tis like powder, so i use it as a powder.

and it works for me !! ^^ Mineral make up question?
You can, but mineral makeup is intended for being the foundation, so it may not give you the results you desire, it can also make your face look cakey. I use Bare Minerals foundations %26amp; mineral veil, I use my own concealer for better coverage %26amp; my own blush, but I've never put mineral makeup over my liquid, I feel like a clown.
Yup! I use Prescriptives mineral powder foundation over either their tinted moisturizer, or a liquid foundation.
I do.. I use Lancome foundation when I go out and I use my bare minerals as a powder. It works just as well

    Mineral Make-Up?

I'm in my late 40's and have sensitive skin. Everyone is raving about the mineral make-up, so I tried it. It settled into every little crease in my face and looked cakey. It felt great. What type of retail/drug store make-up do you older gals wear that works for you?Mineral Make-Up?
I like Bare Minerals............. does not look cakey

Another good one is Clinique's new foundation. It really goes on nice and you don't need powder with it.

I am 45 and suffer from changing skin too. These 2 have helped me a lot.Mineral Make-Up?
I am in my forties and love mineral makeup! I didn't find it at the drugstore because a lot of the products I found there were not 100% pure mineral makeup after checking the ingredients, and I wanted to make a decision based on true mineral makeup. I was told that true mineral makeup did not have talc and would not settle into my lines. The products at the store contained talc and cornstarch.

After trying bare minerals sheer cover and kms I settled on kms mineral essentials. I got the best wear and coverage from this line, and my skin actually looked much younger as the makeup just floated over my lines. Customer service was there with me every step of the way when looking for the right shade and products for me. That impressed me.
I am approaching 40 and I love mineral makeup. I have eczema on my face occaisionally and can't use it then. But, If I use a good moisturizer before applying the minerals - I'm fine!

Other good foundations I like are Mary Kay and Clinique.
I am 37 and use Max Factor - lasting performance,

I use a light moisturiser (the double loreal one is really good - forgot the name but its one red tube and one white tube in one pump unit and it lifts out the minor wrinkles)

I leave that for a minute or two then put on my max factor - not too much!!! blend in really well to neckline etc...

then sweep a bit of summer sun or arabian clow over my cheeks etc to give a natural colour

then a tiny bit of powder blush (borgiose is excellent)

then mascara, lippie gloss and i'm done

takes me about 6 minutes each morning

    good luck xx

if you want to give the mineral make up another go, try exfoliating first then moisturise but really let the moisturiser sink in before you apply the mineral powder, it could be the moisturiser before which is stil a bit damp sticking to the mineral make up, dont be afraid to put a bit of your mineral onto a cosmetic sponge and apply round the lines that way, to lift off the excess .
i love bare escentuals, and my mom is almost 60 and loves bare escentuals (although she has like, no wrinkles..grrrrr...) ... we have also started using laura gellar's baked products; works as well as bare escentuals and doesn't get everywhere like their powder does ... i have had the WORST time finding a makeup base; i'm really pale ... and i hate liquid foundations, and bare escentuals was nice but still too dark for me ... and laura gellar's base is wonderful ...you can get it at sephora's and qvc ... and it still has that nice quality that mineral makeup does ... it's just baked ... hope you look into it! it's a great product ...
I use moisturiser all the time morning and night once its dry I use a bronzer it feels light and looks great and its the only time in my life I've had compliments about my skin and I'm 42 now. I did try 3 different bronzers before I found the right one or rather my mother did its cover girl bronzer and the more you add the browner you look so don't over do it.

    Mineral Make Up help?

i have been using bare minerals for almost 2 years and it been great but its a little expensive, i was wondering if anyone has tried anything such as raw minerals, sheer cover etc. and wat did you think?

i want to try something differentMineral Make Up help?
i don't think there is anything better than i.d bare minerals...i wont change it ever ...i love loreal minerals they are pretty light and suitable for many skin tonesMineral Make Up help?
Physicians Formula has great Mineral Wear loose powder foundation. it comes in that little oval container. you gettoooons of product too for a pretty reasonable price. it costs between $11-$14 depending on where you go. target seems to be the cheapest. i used it every single day (literally!) and its lasted me for 6 months. It comes with its own Kabuki brush as well, so you dont have to worry about buying one. its gr8 for coverage and it goes on really natural. =-)
I use the CoverGirl mineral powder. I've been using it for about 2 years and I love it. Sometimes I use it to set liquid foundation. It works great and doesn't make me break out.

    Mary kay mineral make up?

has anyone tried it? is it as good as Bare Escentuals?Mary kay mineral make up?
I like the MK product better than BE - texture is finer and the coverage is better.

Whatever brand you choose, be aware that the coverage is still VERY sheer, so if you're looking to hide spots, blemishes and uneven skin tone, you'll have to use liquid foundation or concealer in those areas, under the mineral foundation. And if you have dry skin, you're going to need more moisture.

Beware of using too much on your brush - a little goes a lonnng way with mineral foundation and too much looks fake.

One note about the Mary Kay mineral foundations - they appear to skew a little dark, so I found myself using the next lighter shade than recommended.Mary kay mineral make up?
Yes,I really like MK mineral makeup, I have tried Bare Essentials and also Sheer Cover , but Mary Kay's in the best.
TOTALLY SUCKS! I would not use any Mary Kay products on my face at all.
I like it just fine better than regular powder.

Try both of them for yourself and you be the judge.
I bought it a few weeks ago and really regret it. The first ingredient is talc, which really shouldn't be in a 'mineral make up'. Talc is a filler and very cheap, so considering how much this stuff costs, and that it's the first ingredient in their mineral foundation, I think it is a rip off. It also has cornstarch which sucks because it expires easier than than say rice starch, and you know how long some of those mary kay ladies keep this stuff in their cars.

I guess to make up for this the company thought it would be a great idea to put in like 5 different preservatives like parabens and bht and crap.

The only positive is it has boron nitride as it's third ingredient and that's pretty good stuff. I would spend my money on a quality mineral product if i had the choice again instead of a crappy product from a scary pyramid scheme of a company.

    Wat is mineral make up....?

wat do these products contain...how r they different from other productsWat is mineral make up....?
these products contain natural minerals ffrom the earth compared to requalar make up that is all fake stuff and not good for skin, pimples, pores ect. This mineral makup is supposed to be really healthy for your skin.

    here are some websites:

    http://www.bareminerals.com/on/demandwar鈥?/a>

    http://www.sheercover.com/index.php?acnt鈥?/a>

    http://www.neutrogena.com/CosmeticsDetai鈥?/a>Wat is mineral make up....?
Mineral foundation allows you to get fairly good coverage whilst allowing your skin to 'breathe' meaning pores wont be clogged etc reducing spots and blackheads. However, many products that claim to be mineral still contain alot or ingredients so they aren't 100% good for your skin, but they're probably better than many reqular products.
I use bare minerals (made of mostly zinc)

it's made my skin so much more healthy.

Which is the better mineral make-up?

Id Bare Minerals or Pur Minerals or Everyday Minerals?Which is the better mineral make-up?

I personally really like bare minerals and sheer cover. They blend very well with your skin after wearing it 15 mins or so. Bare minerals also helped clear my skin to so it is pretty good.
Actually I believe Bare Escentuals is the very best. Company out of San Francisco. You can purchase on line too.
I use bare minerals. It is awesome!
I think bare minerals. It gets the job done!

No way, the bare essentials is made up of natural ingredients, and the urban decay is made of chemical makeup. Urban decay made me break outUrban decay mineral make up?
no, first, urban decay is diff brand, second, urban decay probably uses ';not natural ingredients'; like the other brand. I actually prefer urban decay more because it's exiting and young.

    Question about Mineral Make-Up?

Hello, just wondering if anyone amongst us have/has used these products on themselves, any feedback and comments would be appreciated thanks. I have looked around on several websites and notice that you can order little samples to try out, as well as customised kits depending on the skin shade etc.

but it runs out pretty fast depending on how much you use

Do you really think they is a difference between bare minerals make up?

and the other mineral make up or they all the same? I use lipglass lipgloss 99cent brand (no more than 2 dollars) and some ppl swear lipglass by mac is the best next to vicky lipgloss they all the same to me but the name. Im wondering is it like that with the mineral make up.Do you really think they is a difference between bare minerals make up?
Mineral make-up is actually healing to the skin. Apply it with a brush in circular motions in order to break up the minerals. MAC lipglosses offer a wide variety of colors but it isn't necessarily the best out here.Do you really think they is a difference between bare minerals make up?
It really depends on which one you're comparing it to. Some mineral makeup can basically be the same, but when you go for lower end brands there can be lots of unnecessary fillers and whatnot in them which make the quality worse. I definitely agree with you on the lipgloss thing though. I just don't see the point in spending like, $15 on a lipgloss with comparable quality to something I can get for $1. There are other brands of mineral makeup that you can try out like Everyday Minerals (www.everydayminerals.com) or Earthen Glow Minerals (www.egmineralmakeup.com). Both of those companies offer mineral makeup for a reall good price. Hope that helped! Good luck!
I worked for Vikki's (I was a CSL for two years) the lip gloss is crap, taste good, but crap.

I love MAC make up so I am probably bias... Only thing is the lip glass is thick, so you need to make sure you don't purse your lips together a lot or you could mess up your look if you have a lip color on underneath.

Cheaper lip glosses are usually thinner in texture and come off more easily, there is nothing wrong with them, it's your preference on what you want from your particular look.
Bare Minerals is the best i have found.

    Larenim mineral make-up?

I've been trying to find a light natural looking foundation. Something that will allow my skin to breath.

I heard that Larenim was a good brand. Do you agree or disagree? Is there a better light foundation?

The reason I'm going with mineral is because everything else seems to break me out. And this brand does not have the bismoth that Bareminerals has. I heard it breaks people out. I have ultra sensitive skin.

So any help will be appreciated!

  • Mineral make up users?

What do you think? How does the coverage compare to a cream foundation? Does the makeup last all day? I had a visit with my Mary Kay rep. last night and she showed me the mineral make up that will be coming out and I tried it and thought it looked nice but seeing that I put it on at night, I didn't get a chance to see how long the coverage lasted.Mineral make up users?
It does last all day. When you apply the foundation, use several ';dustings'; to get the level of coverage you want. It's great for large pores, oily or sensitive skin. (I have all 3.) I like the Larenim brand. They even helped me match my foundation color via email. Mineral makeup doesn't break me out %26amp; it feels much lighter on my face than any cream foundation does.Mineral make up users?
Sorry but I don't use foundation never have and I don't think I ever will because I don't need it, so if it ain't broke don't fix it.
I've used bare minerals for about a year and although I didn't like it at first because I was used to having a face that looked ';made up';, I continued using it and found that it lasts much longer and still looks like it did when you first put it on at the end of the day, if I apply more during the day, it doesn't look cakey, and the coverage depends on how much you apply and what brush you use, for my dark circles, I just use a concealer brush and keep applying until they have disappeared. Plus, it doesn't look like I am wearing more make up under my eyes than the rest of my face. I would highly recommend mineral make up. (although I don't particularly care for mary kay)
The mineral makeup lasts a very long time. It doesn't come off unless you purposely try to. I LOVE mine!
I didn't think mineral make up could cover as well as cream foundation but I constantly get compliments when I wear it. People say my skin looks flawless.

Go with a nice brand though. I tried a store version and it was horrible.
I use Aromaleigh mineral makeup (www.aromaleigh.com) and I LOVE it! The coverage is great, and it's buildable -- apply a single layer for sheer coverage, or multiple layers for more coverage. Most mineral brands also offer some sort of concealor for spot treatments. IMO mineral makeup gives you a much more natural look than liquid, yet if you apply it right it can still give you nice coverage. Since I've started wearing Aromaleigh, people have told me that it looks like I'm not even wearing any makeup and that I have naturally perfect skin -- little do they know that under the makeup, I have mild acne, oily skin, a permanent pink flush in my nose/cheeks/chin, and dark circles under my eyes! :)

As far as lasting, with my super oily skin, Aromaleigh's foundation by itself does not last long. However, when I use their Porcelaine Primer Powder underneath my foundation, then it lasts all day! I just make sure to touch up with blotting sheets during the day.

However I haven't tried Mary Kay so I don't know how their coverage compares. You are certainly welcome to try MK, but if you don't like it, there are tons of other brands out there! Just do a Google search for ';mineral makeup'; and you will find TONS of options!

Just be careful of inexpensive mineral makeup (I'm not sure if MK will fall in this category or not) -- many of them just add minerals to the same ingredients they use in traditional makeup, which negates the health benefits of using minerals! So read the ingredients and make sure you stick to makeup made of pure minerals!

Another thing to consider is that many girls are allergic to bismuth oxychloride (common symptoms are redness and itching). I'm not sure if MK contains it, but other popular brands like Bare Essentials do. So if you have any problems, check the ingredients and try another brand without bismuth if necessary!

Good luck and I hope you find something you like!
Ok, you should not buy mark kay at all. If you want mineral makeup, buy bare minerals. If you apply it over moisturizer rubbed in very good, you will have flawless coverage that lasts all day. Also, it is so light you can sleep in it. I have been using bare minerals for two years. Good luck!
mineral makeup is one of the best and healthiest makeup coverage around. It doesnt make you break out, but may i suggest bare minerals. It doesnt clog pores, breakouts, and has a nice light feeling to it. You can go to sephora or ulta for the starter kit. its $60 comes with brushes,3 mineral shades, and a dvd to show you how to apply. Its quicker, easier and more healthier for your skin. Me personally, i used to use liquid and i would break out, get little bumps, and blackheads like crazy. Now i use mineral makeup and my face looks and feels soooo much better. I am never going back to liquid. hope i helped girl!
I have to agree with all the Bare Minerals fans. It is so lightweight but coverage is great. You can control the coverage with the type of brush and how many layers you apply. I hated liquid and cream foundation, always felt greasy and oily. I get a lot of compliments on my complexion when I use it. Mary Kaye products are good too. I am waiting to try the mineral makeup when they come out with it.

Where can i buy mineral make-up??

Bare Escentuals makes the best, in my opinion. You can buy it in their store or on Sephora as well as numerous websites that sell makeup.Where can i buy mineral make-up??
you can buy them at multiplaces

    1. sephora (sephora.com)

    2. ulta (ulta.com)

    3. any mall area!Where can i buy mineral make-up??
You can get them from AVON now, way cheaper than Sephora or Bare escentuals.
u can get bare escentials at some Macy's as well
I love mineral makeup I recommend Bare Minerals you can buy at their boutiques around the US or at Sephora. I would suggest buying at Sephora that way if you aren't happy you can return it for your money back or store credit.

Enjoy mineral makeup once you try it you'll NEVER go back to liquid or pancake.
    anywhere they sell cosmetics

Has anyone tried bare mineral make up? did it really do wonders for your skin? does it improve ur skin too?

i think it will depend on the person. I have it and i love it. I think it covers really good. I rarely get pimples now. I feel like liquid always caked on. I admit though it does suck in the summer because it comes off easily with water or sweat! i try not to use much makeup in the summer though.

If you're thinkin about getting it i would suggest going to one of the bare essential stores and having them do your makeup. See if you like it and find your color. otherwise you're wasting money of the starter kit which you only use 1/2 of because the other color doesn't match yours!Has anyone tried bare mineral make up? did it really do wonders for your skin? does it improve ur skin too?
Well, here's some new information having used Bare Minerals, myself. It is too expensive and I could never get quite the right color. I have also used just about every other mineral foundation out there. Bella Rose by Serious Skin Care sold on HSN works best for me. It is a much better value because you get about 40% more product which lasts a lot longer. Give it a try. You have a 30 day money-back guarantee so you have nothing to lose. Good luck !!!!Has anyone tried bare mineral make up? did it really do wonders for your skin? does it improve ur skin too?
Yes! and now they have a blemish repair product that you brush on. It sounds good. It's great not to put pore clogging liquid foundation on your skin.
I wouldn't say it worked wonders. It is pretty good, it covers well. It is harder to put on than liquid or pressed powder, you have to get used to it. It is easy to put on too much at first.
I have tried this brand and many others. All I can tell you is that you should not be fooled by the commercials. BE contains an element called Bismuth. This element causes itching and could irritate skin. The commercials never tell you that, but read the reviews and you see how many people have allergies to this product. Try a pure mineral like Everyday Minerals at everydayminerals.com. This company never advertises but the products are pure and about 1/5 of the price of BE.
Yes, I think it is great.

I don't know if it improve my skin but I feel good wearing it.
haha ive tried it and i hated it. i used to live with my aunt and she had the hole thing, the foundation and ALL of the eyeshadows. the eyeshadows arent that great because they come out lighter than usual so you have to use alot if you want that darker look. overall i hated it, the foundation didnt cover ****. and plus, that crap is expensive
i was super doubtful on all these hype about the bare minerals i finally decided to order it.and I am super happy with it....it does improve ur skin and is super natural I luv the mineral veil I have oily skin and that does wonders i luv bare minerals...=)
YES! so i tried fake bare minerals like loreals mineral wear. that made me break out and now i only use bare minerals and i have no breakouts at all. i love it.

Has anyone tried Sheercover mineral make-up? did you like it?

    i mean this sheercover:

http://www.sheercover.com/Has anyone tried Sheercover mineral make-up? did you like it?
I have use it but I don't like it just a gives a light coverage on your skin

also the face brushes they send are very crappy is not worth your time %26amp; you money Bare mineral works excellent compare to sheer cover you should try it gives a nice full coverage on you skin very flawless look.Has anyone tried Sheercover mineral make-up? did you like it?
Sheer Cover the identical to Bare Minerals and both are the single worst products you can expose your skin to. Both are high in bismuth oxychloride a form of arsenic lead that clogs pores and creates horrible breakouts and irritation also associated with rosacea. Both products are truly products to STAY AWAY FROM!
Yes I have tried it and it is the same as bare minerals. I found it hard to use because I am african american and they don't have anything that matched my skin color so back to bare minerals for me. Good luck.

    L'oreal mineral make-up?

Any advice on how to choose what colour to go for.

I have the same sort of skintone as kate moss. I have brown hair and hazel eyes.

Any other tips to do with this make.up?L'oreal mineral make-up?
just go to boots and test it...i love this stuff its really really good...

tip..mix will a little normal pwoder to make it go alot furtherL'oreal mineral make-up?
Mineral makeup is best, it's very natural, has awesome wear-ability, is non-cosmogenic, and is oil free, but please think twice before using Bare Minerals (aka Bare Escentuals) OR Sheer Cover! These products contain bismuth which is NOT a healthy mineral and NOT at all recommended for sensitive skin! It resembles arsenic!!! I used this makeup not knowing this fact and it caused me a very bad allergic reaction including intense itch, large blotchy patches of redness, and break outs! After that i looked into LAMinerals but didn't go with them since they put silk powder (killing the animals that make the silk) and other weird ingredients like magnesium, and calcium into their makeup... Common sense told me the more ingredients, the higher the risk of blocked pores, break outs, and allergic reactions...

I then found this makeup and have been using it for 2 years now! It's wonderful! They have 17 foundation colors (way more then the competitors!) and 5 different finishing powders, choose the one for you skin type! Plus they have over 45 eye shadows! It really works well! Plus they are also MUCH cheaper then the 'big' name companies, and they're cruelty free and totally VEGAN (animal by-product free)!

They offer free shipping to the Continental US!

You know i love that L'oreal mineral make up.For the price it is the by far one of the best.Go for a light beige. Now the company has launched cheek color in the same line.Ihave'nt tried the new product but I am going to.I find it takes a few minutes to ';sink'; into your skin but once it does it gives a light yet almost luminous glow to your skin.Dont put a lot at one time apply sparingly in layers and wok it lightly in to your face.I have recommended it to many friends, and it is mudh better in my opinion than more expensive brands.I just hope they dont take it of the market for some reason.
I WOULD US LIGHT TO MEDIUM THATS WHAT I USE AND MOST PEOPLE HAVE THE SOME SKIN TON BUT I LOVE THAT MAKE UP BUT IF U TAN AND YOUR A LITTLE DARKER GO WITH MEDIUM.

  • Pressed mineral make up?

It is possible to press mineral makeup? I wanted to know if i can press my everyday minerals blush %26amp; if so how? Thanks =]Pressed mineral make up?
YES YES YES! All you need is a pressing medium and a makeup pan... That's it. I highly reccomend visiting CoastalScents.com. Their pressing medium is only about $12.00 and it lasts for a long time. You take your favorite mineral makeup, add about 8-10 drops of the pressing medium, mix it up, put the goopy substance in a makeup pan filling it about half way, use a piece of wax paper and a quarter to press it into the base, repeat the pressing until the pan is full.. Then let it dry. It's great! If you go to CoastalScents.com and go to their makeup pressing section, they have an AWESOME video... Very Esau for first timers. Have fun! I hope this helped.

Looking oily after Mineral Make Up?

I don't think I'm an oily skin person and I never needed to do touch ups when I use to use Revlon's Colorstay Liquid Foundation because I never felt like I looked oily or shiny except at the most in the sun. Now that I use alima's Mineral Make up, I notice by 4th period in the school day I look a little shiny. It's really little but I just hate doing touch ups, so now I'm bringing my Clean%26amp;Clear Oil Blotting Paper to school Does mineral make up make you more prone to being oily or something or what? I already put on the alima primer powder beforehand. When I put on the Revlon make up, I applied Clinique Dramatically Different Lotion prior to application and I do the same for Alima- then I put on the primer, color balancing powder, and then the mineral foundation.Looking oily after Mineral Make Up?
I have used Bare Minerals for years and have not had this problem, even when it is humid out. Set the foundation with Mineral Veil (it comes with most of their kits) and it will last for most (if not all) day.Looking oily after Mineral Make Up?

    hello,

if you want read something about bare minerals makeup

i just come accross this blog which may help you

    http://baremineral-makeup.blogspot.com
*You could also be sweating more and the make-up during the day rubs off. Mineral make-up may or may not do this ( but since i haven't heard of the brand) it could cause your pores to get clogged up therefore; you are left with an oily residue.

    hope this helped
in my magazine they said if you get oily after applying powder, put a little water on your brush then swirl tap buff lol.
Try purity cosmetics. It is really good!

    Question about Maybelline Mineral make-up?

Ok I asked a question similar to this but anybody who has or is currently using this how is it?How is the coverage?I use loreal liquid make-up and I love the coverage that it gives me but it is too thick and I have kinda oily skin so ya know it dont exactly help that.I know people with oily skin shouldnt use liquid make-up but I wanted to try it to see how it was.I prefer the feel of powder but I want the coverage of a liquid. Is this Maybelline mineral make-up what I'm looking for?I really want to try it.I have used the Maybelline pure powder and I loved that it was my exact shade but I needed a little better coverage.I dont need thick coverage I just have some small scars on may face that I want to hide.So anyone that uses this can you tell me hows the coverage? and if it will be good for someone with kinda oily skin?Oh and if anyone is wondering I dont have oily skin because I dont wash my face.I wash my face everyday it is just naturally like that.Question about Maybelline Mineral make-up?
its amazing! i love it, its so light feeling and it covers a lot(redness, blemishes) i would definately recommend it.Question about Maybelline Mineral make-up?
I haven't tried this mineral makeup, but mineral makeup gives you the coverage that's sheer, and natural, and you won't see the line of demaration, it will be so natural, sheer, coverage that will look almost like airbrush makeup. Since Maybelline and Loreal, and some of the other cheaper over the counter Mineral makeup are the least expensive, it would be easier to try them out without going broke. Also, most of your drugstore, like CVS, RiteAid, etc. have very lienent return/refund policies that will allow you to return the product if you don't like it, within a set time. So, take advantage of this. Also, the dept stores have makeup artist that can make you up for free or a small fee.

Also the mineral makeup is natural, from the earth and will be very good for oily skin. I think it will be a good match for you, you just have to find the right product for you.
I haven't used the Maybelline one, but I have used the Neutrogena Mineral Powder.

It works pretty well, but on ME, makes me look cakey. But that's because I have both oily, dry, AND acne prone skin!

I'm also very difficult to find a powder that matches my skin tone. I am pale, but the pale colors I find still don't match my skin tone.

So I would think it would be a bit easier to match a darker skin tone! You lucky girl!

So in my experience, the Neutrogena powder works quite well, and you can carry it in your purse without making a mess because you just pump the powder in the brush, and put a lid back on when you're done!

Are there mineral make up ingredient substitutes?

I want to make mineral make up but i dont think i will be able to find the ingredients easily. Are there any substitutes for these ingredients?I want to make bronzer and finishing powder.

    Ingredients/materials needed for making bronzer:

    Micronized Titanium Dioxide

    Bismuth Oxychloride

    Sericite Mica - Pearl

    Magnesium Stearate

Yellow, Red %26amp; Brown Iron Oxide Pigments

    Jojoba Oil

    Vitamin E Oil

    Essential Oil

Mortar %26amp; Pestle or Magic Bullet

    Ingredients for making finishing powder:

3 parts Sericite Mica - Matt

    1 part Corn Starch

    1/2 part Boron Nitride

1/2 part Zinc Stearate or Magnesium Stearate

pinches of Sparkle Gold, Pearl Pink, %26amp; Bronze Mica powders

thank youAre there mineral make up ingredient substitutes?
coastal scents or DIY cosmetics have the required ingredients: www.coastal scents.com or www.diycosmetics.com

Most starches, Surfactants, emulsifiers %26amp; stabilizers are interchangeable i.e starch: rice flour can be substituted for corn flour.

Be careful when mixing the formulations %26amp; wear an ear loop mask so you don't inhale the micro particles from the various powders you are mixing, probably give the bismuth oxychloride a miss also as from memory something like 70% of women have reactions to it (anything from small red spots to a full blown nasty rash) %26amp; it clogs your pores.

Mary Kay mineral make up questions?

I use Mary Kay make up and have been using the cream to powder foundation. I see in the new book where they are promoting the mineral make up. I bought some of that to try. I like it and it looks pretty good but I have large pores on my nose and it seemed to cover those well. Is there something else I could try with it? Also if you use the mineral make up can you also use regular eyeshadow and blush or do you need to use mineral? • Collection 2000 Mineral Make Up ?

Hi I was in the make up section in the supermarket, and I noticed that collection 2000 do there own minreal make up now too, Has anyone tried it and is it as good as the rest, I did get one from avon that was good and cost like 拢7, and this one is near enough the same price.

I also know loreal do one and Maybelline also now, but there like 拢13.99 and 拢9.99,

Just wanted to know if anyone has tried it and what was it like ?

ThanksCollection 2000 Mineral Make Up ?
i have tryed this and personally i wasnt too impressed, it was alright but not great. for me, it didnt give great coverage and didnt last very long, i had to apply it quite a few times throughout the day. not that i want to put you off, mineral make-up is great, i LOVE loreals true match minerals, i know its quite expensive but its really worth the money and that little pot lasts forever.

whatever mineral make-up you choose, allow your moisturizer to dry and absorb before applying your make-up, this may take a few minutes. always use a non-mineral, oil-based moisturizer that will not clog pores. if your moisturizer does not absorb into your skin, neither will your mineral makeup. use a setting powder as a base all over if you have oily skin...it will help absorb the oil naturally. mineral make-up should be applied in light layers. if you feel you need more coverage, keep applying light layers.

    hope this helps

xCollection 2000 Mineral Make Up ?
I recently bought this and find it good but I haven't tried any of the other brands to have anything to compare it to. This one is very fine and light but I use a big brush to apply it with not the little one that comes with it.

It says on it that it gives foundation like coverage but I wouldn't go that far! It's good if you want to have a natural look but for evenings out i apply foundation first then dust with this, it looks good then and doesn't need touching up either.
I have it, and I think its good for it's price. As long as you apply moisturiser first - on dry skin it looks baad. If you want proper coverage, apply a liquid foundation first and then dust this over, because on its own, it dosen't give alot of coverage.
you can buy collection 200 mineral make up from ASDA cheaper and it is all right
try ebay shops they sell brand new make up for half the price i got two clinique compacts for a fiver dead cheap!!!

    Allergic to mineral make up?

So I have oily, acne prone, extremely sensitive skin. I've tried Sheer Cover and Bare Minerals and both made me break out terribly. I don't know what exactly I'm allergic to. But I need make up to cover the blemishes and redness those make up caused. What would be safe to use for me?

And also, how the heck can I clear my skin again? I had somewhat acne free skin with a few acne marks, now I have blackheads, whiteheads, pustules, and cysts. All of it is on my cheek and along my jawline (and it HURTS!!!). I used Proactiv for 2 months be I think it made it worse.Allergic to mineral make up?
You're probably allergic to the bismuth oxychloride. Try Everyday Minerals. It is talc and bismuth free.

As for cleansers, just use something gentle. Acne products tend to make skin worse, believe it or not.Allergic to mineral make up?
As you describe your skin problems it is obvious to me you have a combination to oily skin. You need to clean your skin properly. You have to use custom fit products for your skin needs. You've used Proactiv just because you've heard is for acne but everyone skin is different. Proactiv is very harsh for the skin. Anyway, I recommend you 3 step system from Clinique. Look for an accredited Clinique consultant and ask to be skintyped. Step 1 is to use a soap to clean your skin, in your case is the oily skin formula and comes in bar or liquid. I personally use the liquid one because I have the same skin type like you. Over night your skin produces lots of toxins and dead cells because renews. If you don't remove the dead cells they clog your pores. Our oily skin produces obviously more oil and if the pores are clogged then we break out. That's way it's extremely important to exfoliate your skin. Step 2 is a toner that exfoliates your skin very gently. Exfoliating your skin will unclog pores and your skin will be brighter and smoother. Step 3 is to moisturize your skin. You have to use only oil free moisturizers and makeup.

In the evening - use a makeup remover first if you wear a foundation or powder. Then use the same things as in the morning.

It is very important to do this twice a day. That's how you keep your skin clean all the time and it always looks healthy and good.

I recommended you this brand in particular because it is for sensitive skin. As I said I use it myself and I am very happy with. Even though I have oily skin my skin looks really good. And besides they have good prices.

Your foundation has to be oil free as well. I personally use the same brand. I use superbalanced oil free liquid foundation. It's 25CAD, gives me the coverage I need, because I have freckles and it has a soft finish.
I mostly end up beginning cheap and trying out a few different ones. Do what seems right and I bet your gut will be correct. I like http://BrandsMakeup.com

I need a good mineral make up-bare minerals or everyday minerals?

ok..so i'm deciding on whether to get BM or EM. my skin gets really oily and crazy during the summer when its hot humid outside (i live in texas) the weather is crazy and i have some acne scars and blemishes that i want to cover. I really need a mineral make up that i can depend on that doesn't rub off,get cakey, oily, or start to melt off my face. i've tried some of clinique products and that sucked :(

i saw an infomercial for BM and it looked GREAT on the ladies who used it. My skin isnt perfect and i heard that it contains an ingrediant bismuth something and irrates the skin and causes breakouts, is it true?. i want the make up that makes my face TO LOOK NATURAL WITH GREAT coverage. im 15 and have band camp next month..so im gonna be outside A LOT!

i dont know much about EM but i know it doesnt contain bismuth chemical. some ppl said it works great and some said it didnt.

HELP ME OUT! im confusedI need a good mineral make up-bare minerals or everyday minerals?
I use both. I like Everyday Minerals because they have a broader color range so if you find that your skin is harder to match, you're more likely to find an exact shade there. They also have four different formulas, so if you have oily skin, I think that Everyday Minerals might be a little bit better (their Matte is really matte on me, but my skin is combo - I really like their Semi-Matte as it never looks cakey but helps grab some of the shine). I also like that Everyday Minerals offers samples for the price of shipping, and I think that they are generous sized samples. That said, I do like the coverage of Bare Minerals a little bit better.I need a good mineral make up-bare minerals or everyday minerals?
I use bare minerals and love it! Although any mineral foundation won't give as good of coverage as liquid foundation, the coverage is still good and the makeup looks really natural. If you go with bare minerals, i suggest the starter kit. Also I hate when it's humid out and my face gets all gross too, so for that I would get oil blotting sheets if you haven't tried them already. They get rid of all the oils on your face without messing up your makeup!

Which Mineral Make up product is the best?

Please help me on buying the best Mineral make up product on the market. The only mineral make up product I know is Bare Minerals, and Sheercover. Help me decide, please.Which Mineral Make up product is the best?
Bareminerals actually made me break out. I would not ever buy that expensive doo doo again! Right now I use almay clear complexion powder makeup (it's not a full mineral makeup, but it has minerals in it along with meadowsweet which clears skin) and my skin looks so natural and clear! Trust me hon, mineral makeup is just a fad, and even though most brands claim to be good for your skin it is just like any other makeup. But if you don't want the almay powder, I would suggest Physician's Formula mineral makeup, it is waaay better than bareminerals!

Good luck finding your makeup, I hope I helped!Which Mineral Make up product is the best?
I use Bare Minerals. At first, my skin was really bad. You have to conceal with their maximum coverage brush, which is included in the starter kit, to get extra covereage where you need it.. I have to admit that at first I didn't like it. But now I love it, and my skin has never looked better. It has cleared up and all of my acne is gone.
I started out with Bare Minerals, but I felt like it didn't cover as much as I'd like. So my mother in law gave me her Sheer Cover to try and I love it! It's $29.95 a month, and they automatically send you the refills of all your stuff: powders, blush, concealer, face wash, and moisturizer. Since you do have problem skin, I would definitely suggest Sheer Cover. I put it on in the morning and don't have to worry about it again for the rest of the day. It covers my dark circles under my eyes, and the occassional blemish that I get.

No matter what kind you decide on, you need to make sure that all of the products that you put on your face are oil free, this includes face wash and moisturizers. So that it doesn't interact with the oily parts of your face. Also, and this may sound weird, but always put your makeup on before you fix your hair. If you do your hair first, the products that you put in it, and the natural oils in your hair can interact with the oils on your face to make you break out.

    I hope I've helped!
I've tried bare minerals and sheercover. They both made me itch. I hate autoshipments, and BE was too orange and not enough shade choices.(they both have bismuth oxychloride)

BUT...mineral makeup is FANTASTIC if you find what works for you. The best way to do that is to order samples from the companies that sell them! That's what I did, and I ended up liking LAminerals the best. They have 2 formulas: Hollywood, and NoHoGlo. (you can read more about the difference on their site).

I use their oil control powder and concealer too. It's all been great, great price, great customer service, and was shipped really fast to me. Oh...and they shipped my samples free.
Try Jane Iredale products! I am also prone to acne and combination skin and these products do not irritate my skin at all so I can use them everyday. They use natural ingredients and no fillers, they won't clog your pores, have spf 20, no animal testing, GREAT coverage especially if you have acne scars like I do and the best thing about these products is that they pretty much stay on all day and are easy to wash off. My faves are the Purepressed powder, Mineral foundation and Purelash mascara. You can buy them direct from the website or use the websites location finder. I have been using Jane Iredale for 6 months now and have nothing bad to say about them, they are a little pricer than regular drugstore cosmetics but well worth it and a whole lot better for your skin! Good Luck!
I tried the expensive kind and it looked shiney/greasy on my face. So then I tried Physicans Formula from yahoo answer on here and LOVE IT. I get it because it's talc free, no shiney face. And about 10$ at walgreens
The Liquid Powder Mineral Foundation by Bee-Luscious is the best. It has no talc, oils or bismuth (Bare Minerals and Sheercover both have talc and bismuth). They also have a T-Zone Mattifyer that will help with your T-Zone. Also get the primer to go under the foundation and it will stay on at least 15 hours. Get the Medicated Concealer for the occasional pimple. Just Google Bee-Luscious. It's not cheap but it is top of the line!
Well, to start off it's best to get rid of those pimples. If you want, you may want to invest in ProActive. I am sure you have heard of this acne-fighting brand before, whether on commercials or in magazine ads. It will help you!! Trust me I especially use the moisturizer before applying Bare Minerals make-up. I personally think that you should start of with Bare Minerals , it may be expensive for a little container of loose powder , but believe me it's worth the money. Bare Minerals works with your skin to help even out blemishes and other problems ( such as scars) .

    * Tip*: The worst thing you could do when a pimple appears is to pick at it!. This will only make it worse and all you are doing is making the pimple last lonnggeerr.

So, I hope you find what you are looking for

    Good Luck!

    KMS Mineral make-up?

I have a question. Is this company real? I've gone to their website and they look EXTREMELY unprofessional. And I have not seen anyone talk about them/use them except one person on Y!Answers.

Has anyone else tried this product?

And no, I'm not asking about Bare Minerals (And I know it's not the purest of make-up), so don't tell me to buy that instead lol.KMS Mineral make-up?
nope never head of it.KMS Mineral make-up?
I love the kms products. I have been using them for 6 months. I had a hard time finding my shade and their customer service department was really helpful in helping me get it just right!

Personally, I don't care what their website looks like. I care about the way the products are working for me. :)

If you have questions or concerns, why don't you email them? I am sure they can help you.:)

    Marie

What mineral make-up can I use?

I really, really want to use mineral make-up. I bought a kit from Sephora of the bareMinerals foundation, and I absolutely love the way it feels and how well it covers without looking or feeling cakey.

The only thing I DON'T like about the bareMinerals brand is that they have very few shades that aren't golden undertones. My skin doesn't have gold tones to it, so putting it on make me look jaundiced and yellow, almost like I sprayed a layer of fake tanner on my face.

Before you say I got a shade that's too dark, that's not possible. I'm way, way pale and got the lightest colors they offer.

So is there any alternative out there to bareMinerals that offers mineral make-up to girls who don't worship the sun and/or their tanning bed? What mineral make-up can I use?
    Drugstore: Maybelline Mineral power

This stuff runs from about $10 a piece%26amp; rocks! i love it so so much! Drugstores will also sell other brands that have Mineral lines.

    Pro stores: MAC Mineralize

This stuff runs from about $28 a piece but is great for high quality\ long lasting makeup! i would choose the MAC over the drugstore brand, but either works great! Hope this helped!! Good luck! What mineral make-up can I use?
Im deathly pale and Bare Minerals was fine for me. You say you brought a kit... usually they have light kits and dark kits but they dont put their lightest colour in these kits. I think their lightest colour is called fairly light or fair (I cant remember which). Try buying these INSTEAD of the kit. It is a lighter shade than what you have now.

But if you dont wane bare minerals anymore, then try clinique. They have loads of mineral makeups, in light shades too. The people at the desk will advise you on which minerals for your skin type :)

  • Mineral make-up?

What is your opinion on make-ups like rawMinerals or bareMinerals? Are either worth it? Is there another mineral make-up you would suggest? Do they work as advertised? Are they good for people with sensitive skin that are prone to break outs? Anybody have any problems?Mineral make-up?
Try Sephora they have great mineral make up

I think it makes a Huge difMineral make-up?
LOVE mineral makeup! However, you need to buy from a reputable highly recommended site or brand because I have gotten some off the net that's like a powder from a makeup compact...ie, it didn't spread nicely %26amp; looked like chalk on my skin.
I am not familliar with raw minerals but I have used bare minerals/bare escentuals and sheer cover in the past. I didn't care for either as both contain bismuth, and ingredient that causes a lot of issues for those with acne and sensitive skin. They are also way overpriced.

I switched to kms mineral essentials a year ago. It is a pure cosmetic so it is great for those that have sensitive skin like myself. It has really exceeded my expectations as far as performance. I am thrilled with the results.
I use bare minerals and I love the coverage that it gives you. There is a starter kit that you purchase at e-bay. That's what I did and it was so much cheaper. It comes with 4 colors a CD to show you how to apply it. Its reversible in the way you can put in on.
I have been using Bare Minerals for about 3 years and I love it. I can sleep in it, if I forget to wash my face, and not worry about a break out. Anymore, I cannot stand the feeling of creme foundation because it feels so heavy and makes my face feel dirty, in comparison to the mineral makeup. It also covers just as well, if not better than, creme foundations and it is better for your skin.
I have found that origins skin care and makeup is the best. They have a booth at macy's here, but I'm sure you can find it online and they have stores. I have tried the cheap makeup and bare minerals, I honestly think this is the best. I have their face masks, foundation, concealer, eye liner, and shampoo. My skin has gotten so much better since I started using their products.
Try puritycosmetics,co,uk. It is really good!
I like bare minerals a lot, but I havent tried the others. I dont have to wear much at all without seeing a difference and its very easy to wash off. I like it a lot!
Arbonne International is a swiss based company that produces 100% botanical products that contain no artificial/toxic ingredients in their makeup or any of their products! Their mineral makeup is a leading brand that doesn't come off during daily activity and won't cause breakouts! It actually has beneficial ingredients that are wonderful for reducing fine lines, reduces enlarged pores and creates flawless skin! You will absolutely love it!! Their skincare line is unbeatable as well! I'm happy to give you more information and can get these for you at 35% off the retail price! you can email me at mandy_118@hotmail.com

    ~Blessings!
I am a big fan of kms mineral essentials. I used to use bare minerals but it is very expensive! I get the same results with kms for much less. :)
I dont know about spending almost 100.00 bucks on bareminerals but loreal has out a new minearl makeup and i love it. It covers well and lasts all day! Cheaper to =]

    good luck
Bare minerals has bismuth oxychloride in it, which makes a lot of ppl itch, inlcluding me. I think its in sheer cover too.

I tried tons of samples from all over and I like LA Minerals the best. I use the HOllywood foundation the most. Great coverage, and stays on really good. I swim in it and it stays on.

Mineral makeup is great for ppl with sensitive skin, at least the natural kind. The store brands are full of chemicals, so watch out! Read the labels.

LA Minerals has samples for like $1 and ship em free.

    MINERAL make up?

so i asked a question about foundation recently and someone suggest mineral make up, i've been hearing things about mineral make up but i need a good coverage....can a powder REALLY cover well enough? i think i have uneven skin tone, and i am sceptical about a powder being able to solve my problems after using cream/liquid foundations for such a long time. thanks! xMINERAL make up?
if you need good coverage a spray foundation (like MAC studio mist foundation) would work a lot better.

mineral makeup is light and sheer, which gives less coverage so it looks more natural.MINERAL make up?
mineral make up... doesn't work if you won't a heavy coverage. You need a cream foundation for that. so if you want a heavy coverage then don't go with it.

i have a mineral make up, i put the over the top of my cream foundation it seems to do the job for me still leaves me a natural look. but i suggest if you do, do that (put the mineral foundation over the top) then dont get a heavy coverage cream/liquid foundation get a medium/light that should do the job. Hope all goes well.

    Goodluck .
I just tried Maybelline's liquid mineral foundation and it's great. It covers well, blends easily, and is lightweight.
Mineral makeup can cover as well as you would like because the coverage is buildable. You buff it in until you get the best coverage. I have also found that the type of brush you use makes a huge difference. I have been using a flat brush and have been getting great coverage with it. My skintone is uneven as well and I get the best results when using the concealer underneath the foundation. I use kms mineral essentials. It is fabulous! Mineral makeup is different to get used to at first, but after a little practice with it, you won't go back to regular foundation
I love mineral makeup, specifically, kms mineral essentials! It covers much better than bare minerals did for me and it costs much less too.
it works really well!! get bare minerals. it is really good for your skin and it is AMAZING.
    I love Mineral Foundation.

I don't like the ''cakey'' look.

But I like a natural look.

My Favorite Mineral Foundation is :

M路A路C Mineralize SPF 15 Foundation (Loose).

It stays on throughout the whole day and it's also buildable without looking all ''cakey''.

    Good Luck! =)

Can you really sleep in bare minerals make up?

i heard it being advertised on an infomercial as being so pure and light, you can sleep in it.

i dont think id ever want to sleep in any make up either way, but is it true? it wont hurt your skin? Can you really sleep in bare minerals make up?
    Yep, you can.

It's so light and it doesn't clog your pores and mineral makeup (like bare) is so good for your skin that it's actually better to wear it than to not wear any makeup at all. It even helps fight breakouts. Can you really sleep in bare minerals make up?
    its true

its really light so it doesnt really even get into your pores
Do not do that. BE contains filters and impurities such as Bismuth that cause clogging of your skin. IMO, do not use any makeup on your skin when you sleep.
    no no no

I tried that, doesn't work. Horrible breakouts. Wash face before going to bed. If you rub your face on your pillow you will be rubbing in anything that is on your skin into your pores. Just like they say, hands off your face, too, you don't want to introduce more bacteria into your pores and I assume most people don't have a clean pillowcase every night.
I do. Sometimes I forget I have it on. I have no skin problems.
yes you can but i really wouldnt suggest it. any sort of makeup on your face as you sleep runs the risk of clogging your pores.
it does not hurt your skin or give you break outs or anything but it rubs off your pillow at nite. i still recommend that you wash your face before going to bed.
No its not true at all and its not pure it has bismuth which is a natural from of arsenic so think about what your putting on your face. I used it and broke out actually within a few days, also the coverage was not great and in about 2 hours it was coming off. Don't toss your money away.
    Why would you wany to?
    yeah.

but it rubs onto your pillow.

    so just wash it off.
    donno

but i think it will still ruin skin
idk i do sometimes. it doesnt really do anything to my skin so i guess its fine. but i wouldnt do it often
Yeah, but it still rubs off on your pillow!

    Bare Mineral Make-up?

I am a MAC girl, but I have heard many friends I try Bare Minerals foundation for a natural look and mac for the other items.

Any suggestions or feedback on Bare MineralsBare Mineral Make-up?
yeah, people are ALWAYS suggesting Bare Minerals to me but i have found that if you have normal to a drier skin it is not the best product. i use CARGO foundation and it works really well and looks very natural.

I don't know how ';natural'; the indgredients are in this foundation but i've never had any breakouts from it or anything like that.

especially if your going from MAC to Bare Minerals i think you will be dissappointed

they also don't have a good selection of different shadesBare Mineral Make-up?
I've tried both and found a new cosmetic line called Bella Beauty where I buy everything - the foundation and the other items. I've included a link to the company website in case you want to take a look..
I just got it. At first I hated it because I wasn't putting enough on so I thought it didn't cover anything, but then I learned how much to put on and I absolutely LOVE it. Also, you are benefiting your skin because it is so good for you. You cannot tell it is on at all. Always remember- when you put something on your skin you are basically eating it.
You may not notice any difference between the two now, but in the future, your skin will look better and healthier if you use mineral makeup!
Ipersonally LOVE bare minerals. It does look more natural.

Best mineral make up all around????????

I need to know THE BEST mineral makeup(cover up) around! Something that rarely causes breakouts and blends good with fairish skin tone with small imperfections(such as dark circles under eyes) I want something very light but still does the trick to help brighten my skin.

Bare minerals? Sheer cover? What's the best?Best mineral make up all around????????
Bare minerals and SHeer cover has bismuth oxychloride in it. Made me itch, does a lot of ppl. Plus you have to buff and buff to get that glow.

I use LAminerals and I like it better. No itch, better price, better ingredients, covers better too.

My aunt is really pale and she just started using it too, I think the Fair cool color???

And I have a friend thats a die hard bare minerls user and she just switched and likes LAminerals better too! Not cakey or dry lookin or feelin.

They have samples for like $1 and ship them free. Their Hollywood formula has really good staying power ( i swam in it and it stayed) and covers good if you need it.

The NoHoGlo formula is a lil more sheer, just put on more layers, and has more Glo to it without the bismuth stuff.

Oh..and not autoshipment BS...I hate that...thats the deal with sheer cover once you keep that kit!

Jus google LAminerals.Best mineral make up all around????????
I know I have talked to you before and please don't be offended by my plugging of Mary Kay, but we just came out with a mineral foundation and I do really love it. At first i didn't because I applied it wrong, like I used to use Bare Minerals, so it looked weird, but I got the hang of this one and I really like it.

I will send you a sample to try if you like.

I used Bare Minerals, and my dermatologist told me to stop and she sold me Glo minerals but I thought it looked cakey.

its all trial and error...good luck!
    Bare Minerals sucks.

It contains a filler in it called Bismuth and it often irritates peoples skin.

I would recomend to anyone with any type of skin everyday minerals.

It is ten times cheaper and does not contain any fillers.

    www.everydayminerals.com
i use bare minerals and i love it. it's the only makeup that i can wear which doesn't make me break out.. i can even sleep in it and i wont break out. it's very sheer and natural.. but can work as a foundation too (just mix with the bare minerals skin-rever upper)
BARE MINERALS BARE MINERALS BARE MINERALS!

the best mineral makeup of all time is:

    BBBBBAAARRREEEMMIIINNNEEERRRAAALLLSSS!鈥?br>

omg just try it and you'll LUV IT!
Bare Minerals is the best. Great coverage, natural look, flawless finish. The only problem is that it contains bismuth oxychloride, which some people are allergic to. If you are allergic to it, it can cause rashes and breakouts. Sheer cover contains this ingredient too. I would go to ulta, sephora, or a Bare Escentuals boutique and try it on. If you have no problems, buy bare minerals.

If that you are allergic, try physician's formula or everyday minerals. They don't contain this ingredient.

I have had no reactions and LOVE Bare Minerals. Their brushes, foundations, blushes powders, even their eyeshadows are fabulous! Great company.
Bare Minerals is the BEST!! The coverage goes on really light, but you can use the same powder as concealer or build up the amount of coverage you want...it's also a natural sun-screen (which you'll be glad you used when you're as old as i am:)) It may seem expensive, but when you consider that it's makeup, concealer and blemish treatment all in one and the fact that it lasts forever...it's not so expensive in the long run. have fun!!
Get the Liquid Powder Mineral Foundation at Bee-Luscious! It is oil, bismuth and talc free. So it will never cause a breakout! It stays on at least 12 hours. You will never have that ugly makeup line. LOL

    Here's their link!

    BARE MINERALS!!

Its expensive, but it lasts a long time and it covers very well without clogging pores and causing breakouts!

invest in this if you can!

  • Is mineral make up foundation any good????10 points?

i'm keen on making my face a flawless smooth look, my skins good, i just need to cover up my pinkish colour face:)

i'm looking for something under $30,so do you know of a good one, and the brand??

xxIs mineral make up foundation any good????10 points?
Mineral makeup is really good but extremely messy if its used with a brush, i would recommend Maybelilne because they do good cheap ones for foundation aswell as blusher

hope this helped. Is mineral make up foundation any good????10 points?
Mineral makeup is great, as long as you are lucky enough to find a pure mineral makeup. In my experience, those found in local stores aren't always the best choice as they can contain a lot of fillers such as talc and cornstarch that do absolutely nothing for your skin.

I was on a quest a couple of years ago to find a mineral foundation that worked great for my sensitive skin without breaking the bank at the same time. I found KmS Mineral Essentials and never looked back. Good luck!
I would use a concealer stick. You can get a mineral one, i think it would look like a lipstick and it would be green. Weird i know but it does actually good, foundation normally clogs up pores and causes even more spots so i would recommend the concealer stick, it covers up pink bits of the face

Does demi lovato wear bare mineral make-up

Bare Mineral Make-up or SheerCover Make-up?

Is there a brand of either of these make-ups that can be bought in the store either as a knock off or as the real thing?? What is recomended?Bare Mineral Make-up or SheerCover Make-up?
You can buy BE from Sephora, but I would not because it is not as pure as other minerals out there. Try everydayminerals.com. The company sends samples for free so you have nothing to lose. The minerals in this brand are pure and great.Bare Mineral Make-up or SheerCover Make-up?
I would suggest just ordering the real thing. My wife recently started using Sheer Cover and she absolutely loves it. It covers blemishes well, makes for a good even skin tone, and improves the overall health of your skin over time. It is not really all the expensive either seeing as they charge you by the month and you get rather large amounts of each thing each month and can customize what you get through their website.
    L'oreal Bare Naturale
I have not had any luck with either of those products. If you're willing to spend the money, the absolute best face makeup I have found is Lancome. I am a former MAC Make-up artist and would still use the Lancome products for my face. They cover well and wear very naturally. The best product is their Dual Finish Product. You should try it out. Keep the receipt and if you find you don't like it, you could always return it to the store with no questions asked. You can purchase Lancome in any department store. Good Luck!
sephora.com or ulta.com is where u can buy bare minerals

to purchase sheer cover go to sheercover.com

i use bare minerals and i like it. however, i have never tried sheer cover, so i can't really say

Faerie Organic Mineral make-up Vs. Everyday Mineral Makeup??:)?

Which one gave you great coverage without looking cakey??:) And the look of smooth amazing skin??

Im sooo interested in both but im not sure which one is better%26gt;_%26lt; lol

P.s. I have acne prone skin and its a lil bit oily

Highly highly apreciate this:)Faerie Organic Mineral make-up Vs. Everyday Mineral Makeup??:)?
I like EDM better, especially since I am oily like you. Try their Intensive collection. It is great-Faerie Organic Mineral make-up Vs. Everyday Mineral Makeup??:)?
i've only tried everyday minerals. I'd recommend just getting the starter kit. I felt like it was hard to buff it out but I'm used to bare minerals being idiot proof lol.

It looked alright. It took me awhile before I found a good color for myself, i think i ordered like 2 different sample packs. i use korres primer too so it lasts and looks good once i get it to buff. Good luck!
well ive read all kinds of mixed reviews on mineral makeup...all the different brands have something different that people dont like...=/...i wanted a new type of foundation so badly a few years ago and i did a lot of research...i found Dinair Airbrush Makeup and ive been using it ever since. It covers everything and makes my skin look flawless...its also all water based so tis not bad for ur skin. i know they have this stuff that u can put under ur makeup that absorbs and gets rid of oil and its produced...anywho fif u google Dinair you'll find their site and u can look through it...hope i helped...=)

Help! I have oily/spot prone skin. Do I turn to mineral make-up or not?

I've had bad skin since i was young and also have polycystic ovaries.

I've spent so much over the years just trying to find a foundation that gives me medium or full coverage that doesn't make me look more greasy.

I've been reading answers and most people are saying use mineral foundation. I was planning on going out and buying the Bare Escentuals mineral foundation in fairly light but after reading up on it I've had second thoughts.

Does it really make your skin itchy and does it make your skin look more oily? My skin is no wear near perfect and has red patches and acne scarring.

A lot of people seem to say Maybelline dream matte moose but to be honest I think it's way to orange for me and doesn't give me enough coverage and slides off.

The only foundation I've used I can truly say stays on is Estee Lauder double wear foundation in bone (the woman at the boots counter tested it on my face and gave me shell but I think it's just a little to tanned for me and makes me look orange) which I apply with a foundation brush but because the summer is coming up I feel it's a little to heavy to wear all the time.

I've only tried one mineral foundation and it was Revlon color stay mineral which I thought was ok but only ever used to put on top of my make-up to make it look less dewy.

I've been using Avene cleanance soap free gel cleanser, Clearasil Ultra deep pore treatment wash and Garnier pureactive deep pore unclogging wash but I can't make up my mind what to stick to. I think Clearasil was amazing when I first used it but like many products I've used my skin gets used to it and the spots pop back.

I've tried topical solutions like zineryt and about 3 others which I found worked but the spots popped back once again and often made my skin dry out to much but the spots stayed. I found zineryt extremely good though even if the smell was disgusting.

I also use Clinique Dramatically Different Moisturizing Gel (pricey and not that good and have also tried the 3 step's for oily skin and they are not worth it at all and very pricey)

I'm on the pill at the moment. Could this also be contributing to my spots as well?

I'm pretty skint at the moment and can't afford to go and buy loads of new products.

Thanks so so much if you could give me some advice! :)Help! I have oily/spot prone skin. Do I turn to mineral make-up or not?
okay so first off you have very oily skin the only way to really reduce that is to take a makeup brush after youve applied your moisturizer and primer and dip your brush into pure corn starch the corn starch actually acts like a protective layer or you can go to http://www.funhousetheatricalcostumes.com/kry-5705.html and it is a product called kryolan which is used for the models during long photoshoots and this stuff really works just apply it where your skin is oily i hope this works

What minerals make up tap water? Is there a lot in it that's bad for you?

There are loads of different minerals in tap water, it really depends on where you live. Water with minerals in is called hard water, hard water is good for your heart, so no it's not bad for you. What minerals make up tap water? Is there a lot in it that's bad for you?
idk bc i dont drink tap water... i herd it causes cancer on long island... and its just bad. i drink poland spring evian etc... never tap...not even to boil water ... i always use bottled water even to wash my faceeWhat minerals make up tap water? Is there a lot in it that's bad for you?
The mineral content of water varies considerably from place to place. In general, surface water, rivers, lakes and streams, contain less minerals than grond water, wells and springs.

The mineral content of water reflects the nature of the geologic fromation with which the water has been in contact. The most abundant minerals dissolved in water are salts of calcium, magnesium, strontium, ferrous iron, and manganese. The cations(negative ions) these meatls are assocoated with are bicarbonates, carbonates, sulfates, and chlorides.

These minerals produce a condition in water knowen as hardness. The more dissolved minerals the water contains the harder the water. Hard water minerals react with soap to form a precipitate. they also form scale in pipes.

Boiling water is one method of disinfecting water. Disinfection is a process of destroying disease causing microorganisms in water.

When the temperature of water is raised such as when boiling, the amount of dissolved minerals that the water can keep in solution becomes less. The excess minerals come out of the water and form scale. The white deposit in the bottom of a tea kettle is an example of this process.

The minerals are not destroyed they simply move out of the water.

A basic rule of chemistry is that matter can neither be created nor destroyed it can only be changed from one form to another.

Unfiltered Tap Water - 6 Reasons to Avoid It

Tap water is obtained either from surface water - water that run off from ponds, rivers, and lakes, and is collected in reservoirs- or from ground water, such as wells.

Tap water contains calcium and magnesium. It can be considered ';hard'; or ';soft';, depending on its geographic origins. Hard water prevents soap from lathering and results in filmy sediment being deposited on hair, clothing, pipes, dishes etc. It can be annoying. Some studies have shown that the incidence of death from heart disease may be lower in areas where the drinking water is hard, although results have not been conclusive.

Soft water can be naturally soft or it may be hard water that has been treated to remove the calcium and magnesium. Soft water has a tendency to dissolve the lining of pipes. Copper, zinc, and arsenic are toxic metals that can leak into softened water from copper pipes. Drinking unfiltered tap water could be hazardous to your health. Here are some specific reasons:

    1. Safety

Most tap water is safe. Occasional contamination is unavoidable. It has been reported that 10% of the serious gastrointestinal illness case in children requiring hospital visits are attributable to the drinking water, according to researchers at the Harvard School of Public Health. Adults with weakened immune systems are also at risk, including those with AIDS, cancer patients undergoing chemotherapy or radiation treatment, or the elderly. Contaminants in water above the level set by the EPA are often the cause.

    2. Chlorination

Seventy percent of Americans drink chlorinated water. Chlorine is added to most municipal water supplies. It destroys waterborne bacteria; including those that result in typhoid fever, cholera, and dysentery.

Studies have shown that lifetime consumption of chlorinated tap water can more than double the risk of bladder and rectal cancer in certain individuals. It appears that the chlorine reacts with naturally found organic compounds to form ';chlorination byproducts,” many of which are carcinogenic. Studies have also found that rectal cancer for both sexes escalated with duration of chlorinated water.

In addition to cancer, research has linked chlorine-based chemicals to infertility and other reproductive problems. The chemical structure of some chlorine-based chemicals are similar to that to estrogen. These may act as a competitor to block the action of natural estrogen, or in some case, actually amplifying its effect.

    3. Low Dose Industrial Toxins and Pharmaceutical Products

Industrial toxins and pharmaceutical products in extreme low dosage escape the water treatment plant and may be found in tap water, although at a much lower level than that which causes pharmacological results. Many waters contained arsenic, nitrates, or other inorganic contaminants at levels below current maximum safety standards. Studies have shown that it is not infrequent to find waters containing synthetic organic chemicals - such as the industrial chemicals toluene or xylene, or chemicals used in manufacturing plastics such as phthalate or styrene. Pharmaceutical products can have long half-lives. They accumulate, reaching detectable and biologically active amounts. Several commonly used medicinal drugs, such as erythromycin, naproxen, and sulpha-methoxazole, can persist in the environment for more than a year. Clofibric acid, the main metabolite of clofibrate, has an estimated persistence in the environment of 21 years and is still detectable in lakes and rivers even after its withdrawal from the market.

    4. Fluoridation

Over 50% of the US population drinks fluoridated water, ostensibly to improve dental health. The Center for Disease Control is advocating this based on data that is half a century old. Whether it is good for our health has been a hotly debated issue for years. Conclusive evidence to prove that fluoride actually works is lacking. On the other hand, a considerable amount of data exists to show that fluoride is a negative fountain of youth.

What we do know is that is that population areas of high fluoride intake is associated with increased incidence of Down syndrome, cancer, osteoporosis, osteomalacia, mottled teeth, and death from all course. One study found that fluoride elevates cancer mortality by 17% in large cities. Over 60,000 cancer deaths in USA may be related to fluoridation each year according to some epidemiological studies.

In many European countries where fluoride is banned, the rate of dental cavity actually decreases. For example, researchers studied more than 15,000 children in the formerly fluoridated German towns of Spremberg and Zittau and showed a 38 percent and 20 percent reduction in cavities respectively after fluoridation is stopped and the fluoride concentration in the water dropped from 1 ppm to below 0.2 ppm.

What we do know is that fluoride causes cell death (apoptosis) in the human leukemia cells by activating certain enzymes that have been identified as a key mediator of apoptosis of cells in humans and other mammals, leading to DNA damage and cellular change. This is dose-dependent and time dependent. Studies have shown a significant increase in chromosome aberrations at the chromatid level, sister chromatid exchanges, and unscheduled DNA synthesis induced by sodium fluoride. In addition, fluoride has been shown to inactivate over 60 enzymes, disrupt the immune system, and inactivate vitamin C. In short, it is an anti-nutrient.

Much of the reasoning behind fluoridating water was to prevent tooth decay. As far as dental care, it should be remembered that prevention of tooth decay rest primarily on sound nutrition. Tooth brushing and fluoride does not stop rampant tooth decay if the diet is unhealthy. Fluoride only hardens the outer surface of the enamel and may prevent calcium from being deposited when a tooth is re-mineralized. The key to good dental hygiene is to eat a proper diet and drink plenty of pure, non-fluoridated filtered water.

Most people do not know that plain ';fluoride'; does not exist in our water. The naturally occurring form of fluoride, calcium fluoride, is not toxic - but this form is not used to fluoridate water. The chemicals used to fluoridate over 90% of the in the US are one of the silicofluorides (either fluosilicic acid or sodium silicofluoride, not sodium fluoride). Sodium hydrofluorosilicic acid is one of the most reactive chemical species know to man. Its toxicity is well known. This is added to our water to produce ';healthy teeth.” Very little long-term research has been done on fluorosilicates, that which is what is poured into the drinking water.

Equally sad, nobody really knows for sure what concentration of fluoride is considered toxic. Fluorides are the 13th most widely distributed element on earth, so it can turn up almost anywhere. Individuals have different levels of tolerance for toxins such as fluoride. Until more is known, it is only prudent to expect that some level of cell damage is present with fluoridated water.

    5. Aluminum

Aluminum in drinking water has been linked to Alzheimer's disease. In a study where close to 2,700 individuals were followed for an 8-year period to identify new cases of probable Alzheimer’s, researchers found that that a concentration of aluminum in drinking water above 0.1 mg/l may be a risk factor of dementia and Alzheimer's disease. It is interesting to note that some water treatment facilities actually add aluminum sulfate to remove particulate and organic matter.

The relationship between aluminum and fluoride is very interesting. The body does not readily absorb aluminum by itself. However, in the presence of fluoride ions, the fluoride ions combine with the aluminum to form aluminum fluoride, which is absorbed by the body. In the body, the aluminum eventually combines with oxygen to form the end product aluminum oxide or alumina. Alumina is found in the brains of patients with Alzheimer’s disease.

Studies have shown that rats fed alumina in diet results in short term memory loss, unsteady gait, and loss of structures of the neo-cortex and hippocampus, all symptoms consistent of Alzheimer’s disease.

    6. Parasites

Giardia (G. lambia) and Cryptosporidium (C. parvum) are waterborne protozoan cysts that may be present in some water supplies. When ingested, the cyst-shell is shed and the organisms infect the intestines, causing illnesses. Because Giardia and Cryptosporidium cysts are resistant to traditional disinfection agents such as chlorine and ultraviolet light, the organisms are often not removed by municipal water treatment.

Ingestion of water infected with Cryptosporidium cysts causes Cryptosporidiosis, a disease characterized by symptoms such as diarrhea, nausea, vomiting, abdominal cramps, headaches, and low-grade fevers. Symptoms may last from one to two weeks before the body's immune system stops the infection. Young children, older adults, and those with weakened immune systems face greater risk of serious illness and possible death resulting from infection. Cryptosporidiosis was brought to national attention in 1993 when the city of Milwaukee’s water supply became contaminated with Cryptosporidium cysts, resulting in 400,000 cases of the disease and 100 related deaths.

Ingestion of water infected with Giardia cysts results in Giardiasis (commonly know as ';beaver fever';), one of the most common causes of diarrhea in North America. Infection is more common among children and may last for up to three weeks. Giardiasis may be effectively treated with antibiotics. There currently is no truly effective antibiotic treatment for cryptosporidiosis, but the disease will generally subside on its own. However, persons having compromised immune systems may have chronic cryptosporidiosis that may persist for months.

Carbon block filters will remove Crytosporidium and Giardia cysts. Boiling water will also achieve the same. Look for filters that are capable of removing particles less than 1 micron in diameter. Reverse osmosis filtration devices will also remove Cryptosporidium oocysts from drinking water.

If you have to take tap water, consider placing tap water in a glass or ceramic pitcher in the refrigerator, with the top loose to allow the chlorine to dissipate overnight before drinking. This also will allow volatile disinfection by-products to evaporate (though less volatile disinfection by-products may stay in the water). Overnight refrigeration of tap water in a loosely capped container also reduces the objectionable chlorine taste and odor.

Sort of depends on your area, and what kind of water treatment is done in your area.

It's not only what you can see, but also what you can't see.

Minerals, like lead, can be a concern, but bacteria can be more harmful. Not to get you too paranoid, you'll likely hear about an advisory to boil your water if such a problem should occur.

But back to minerals, if in doubt, get a water filter for your tap.
this depends on where the water comes from , your location and the type of water system that services the tap.

water from wells vary widely from location to location

    water from rivers same thing.

some tap waters go through purification plants before arrival others do not.
